Glasgow Airport reopens after security false alarm

By December 5, 2022 No Comments

Travellers out of Glasgow Airport have faced flight delays and cancellations after sections of the terminal were closed at around 6 am on December 5 due to what police said was a “report of a suspicious item”.

The airport reopened at around noon the same day, but only after the check-in and central search areas were closed for several hours in what the airport said was “an ongoing incident”.

Passengers were forced to wait in a multi-storey car park while police investigated the matter, which turned out to be “innocent in nature”, they said.

The airport’s online schedule showed six flight cancellations between 10.45 and 13.30, with departures to Amsterdam, Belfast, Dublin and London affected.
