London City Airport said BA CityFlyer is to launch routes to Salzburg on December 9 and to Chambery the following week, meaning “more choice” for Brits during “the first meaningful skiing season” since before the Covid pandemic,

Chambery is less than an hour and half by road from several popular ski resorts, with Salzburg, also popular due to its architectural heritage, 60 minutes away from the nearest pistes.

LCY said the new routes add to services already in place, including with other airlines, to Geneva, Zurich, Frankfurt, Prague, Dusseldorf and Berlin.

BA CityFlyer is to expand its LCY-Geneva flights from three a week to five in January 2023, with Swiss’s route to Geneva to climb from 11 to 13 per week, the airport said in a statement.
