Avia Solutions Group (ASG) is to create “up to 50 permanent job positions”, or jobs, at its new Dublin headquarters.

The headquarters is in Leopardstown, a part of the city better known for its horse-racing track

The company’s move to Ireland was announced in March, with the idea that the country’s capital, a popular operating base for aircraft leasing businesses and the headquarters of Europe’s biggest airline, Ryanair, could “serve as a strategic location for Avia Solutions Group’s global operations”.

ASG is the parent company of  SmartLynx Airlines, Avion Express, BBN Airlines, Klasjet, and Magma Aviation, among others, and employs 11,000 people worldwide to operate services sold to carrier such as Turkish Airlines, Norwegian, Lufthansa, TUI, SAS and Wizzair.

“Moving the company’s controlling headquarters to Ireland is a strategically important step for us in terms of our further development plans,” said chief executive Jonas Janukenas.

“Ireland is known as a global aviation hub. A large number of aviation companies are located here, hence, being closer to the aviation community we will be able to implement the group’s development plans faster and maintain market leadership,” he added.
