Manchester Airport promising “artisan” cafes and champagne bar at new T2

Manchester Airport has “unveiled plans” for what it said would be 27 new “eateries and retail units”  in the new Terminal Two.

The extended departure lounge, which has been jazzed up as part of a £1.3bn refurbishment, is to include a food market serving a range of “world cuisines” and “quick eats”.

The airport said it would add a “boutique high street-style shopping area” with a champagne Bar and premium brands, so-called “artisan” cafes and a brasserie.

“We are well aware that our guests’ holidays start at the airport and we want them to enjoy their time here – whether that means sipping craft beer brewed at the airport in a bar overlooking the airfield, or eating an artisan pizza,” said Richard Jackson, retail director at Manchester Airport, who said the hub was “seeking retail partners who will bring a high-class offering, tailored to the needs of the travelling public”.
