Luxury charter company Oryx Jet will deploy Bluebox’s portable wireless IFE platform – Bluebox Wow – across its three Boeing B737-500 aircraft in May. Bluebox Wow’s flexibility ensures that passengers will enjoy a range of movies, TV programmes, games and a moving map when flying across Europe and the Middle East, whether on board one of Oryx Jet’s 56-seat, 100-seat or 148-seat configurations.

“Whether flying private individuals or sports teams such as the Portuguese national football team, we want to deliver the best experience for our passengers, and with Bluebox Wow we’re able to enhance that experience with in-flight entertainment,” said Capt. Hamayoun Ashraf, Managing Director, Oryx Jet. “As a charter airline we wanted a flexible solution that would suit the type of flights we operate, and also needed a solution that wouldn’t require costly changes to our recently refurbished interiors.”

“We’re pleased one of the key attributes of Bluebox Wow – its flexibility – continues to win over customers like Oryx Jet,” said Kevin Clark, CEO, Bluebox. “Whether for charter flights, an expanding fleet or even a mixed fleet, the power, flexibility and portability of Bluebox Wow combine to offer operators a simple solution for delivering IFE where more traditional systems are too rigid and costly to install.”

Bluebox Wow provides wireless content streamed to passenger devices in any aircraft cabin, including up to 1.6 terabytes of film, TV, audio, games and other digital content. With a remarkably low cost of ownership, Bluebox Wow is a stand-alone, portable, lunchbox-sized unit stowed securely in overhead bins.
