London Gatwick is celebrating its 65th anniversary this month as the airport prepares for a busy schedule ahead and continues to recover from pandemic woes.

As per Cirium, Gatwick is scheduled for at least 12,281 departures, equating to over 3.2 million seats, making the airport the UK’s second-busiest. The number of departures is 5% below the pre-pandemic mark of 2019.

In June, Gatwick will host scheduled flights to 184 destinations, inching closer to 2019 mark which saw scheduled flights to 208 destinations.

Given the increasing figures the airport has been seeing, it’s forecasted to have at least 130,072 annual departures by this year-end.

The highest number of scheduled domestic flights are to Guernsey Airport with 176 flights and Glasglow Airport with 172 flights. On the international front, Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport will have the highest 353 flights in June 2023.

British Airways will fly from Gatwick Airport to several destinations in Europe, four in North America, 10 in Central America, and five in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.

easyJet’s top flight routes from Gatwick Airport this month are to Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Lisbon, and Tenerife. Vueling has also expanded its daily flights between Gatwick Airport and various non-stop destinations in Spain like Alicante, A Coruña, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, and Málaga.

Vueling will also connect Gatwick Airport with Genova, Florence, Vienna, and Rome in Italy and Paris-Orly in France.
