GKN Aerospace has won a contract from Triumph Aerostructures – Vought Aircraft Division, a subsidiary of Triumph Group, Inc., covering the design, build and supply of composite winglets and ailerons for the Bombardier Global 7000 and Global 8000 ultra-long-range business jets.
The ailerons will be developed and manufactured at GKN Aerospace’s Munich wing structures operation in Germany, with the winglets activity being undertaken by the company’s team on the Isle of Wight, UK.
Marcus Bryson, CEO, GKN Aerospace and Land Systems comments: “We are very proud to have received this contract from Triumph Aerostructures for the winglets and ailerons on this high performance aircraft. These items will make an important contribution to the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft achieving their industry-leading range, speed, fuel burn and emissions goals.”

Winglet design and build is a growing area of the GKN Aerospace business activity. The company is already contracted to provide winglets for the Bombardier CSeries aircraft and supplies winglets for a number of other aircraft platforms.
