Hundreds of FedEx Express pilots took part in a May 24 “informational picket” in front of the FedEx Express Air Operations Center in Memphis

The event was staged “to protest their protracted contract negotiations”, according to the Air Line Pilots Int’l (ALPA) union.

“Last week, voting closed on a historic strike authorisation ballot, with our pilots overwhelmingly in support of a strike if necessary,” said Capt. Chris Norman, chair of the FedEx ALPA Master Executive Council. “Once again, our pilots are holding the line and demonstrating their continued frustration with management’s lack of urgency to close this deal and invest in our pilots.”

The pilots and the company have been in mediation with the National Mediation Board since November 2022, after contract negotiations began in May 2021.
