CFM International has announced the signing with Ryanar of signed a letter of agreement  for the purchase of 150 LEAP-1B engines.

The engines are to power the 150 Boeing MAX aircraft the Irish carrier said it would buy from Boeing in a  deal announced on May 9.

Ryanair could end up buying up to 300 of the passenger jets,  according to the terms agreed with Boeing, with CFM in turn saying its agreement with the budget carrier “includes spare engines and options for 150 additional aircraft”.

“We are honoured by Ryanair’s renewed trust in our products and in our teams. We look forward to continuing to support Ryanair’s fleet development by providing them with the best standards in terms of reliability, sustainability and maintenance,” said Gaël Méheust, president and chief executive of CFM International.
