Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) has been awarded a three-year contract to service servo actuators on the Helibras turbine helicopters by Helibras, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters. Located in Itajubá, Helibras is the only helicopter manufacturer based in Brazil and manages the production, sales and aftermarket for Airbus Helicopters with a share of almost 50% of the Brazilian fleet of turbine helicopters.
In 2017, UTC Aerospace Systems awarded another license to APS to perform all levels of repair on the main and tail rotor servo actuator models for Airbus Helicopters operating in Brazil. APS is the only MRO authorized for Level III repairs in Brazil for the Squirrel/Fennec (EC130/AS350/355/AS550 and Dauphin/Panther (AS565/AS365) helicopter servo actuators.
The aftermarket contract with Helibras is a further expansion of APS’ growing relationship with Airbus and continued growth in the servo actuator market.
