Menzies Aviation recently won a contract from Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to provide a range of ground services at Kuwait International Airport. This is the first contract with the airline outside of Europe. As part of the new agreement, Menzies will deliver ramp, passenger, security, and ticketing services for seven flights a week.

Charles Wyley, Executive Vice President Middle East, Africa and Asia, Menzies Aviation, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with Wizz Air with this new Wizz Air Abu Dhabi contract in Kuwait. It demonstrates the confidence Wizz Air has in the ability of the Menzies team to provide a safe, secure and consistence quality service. We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Wizz Air in the region and beyond.”

Apart from the Middle East contract, Menzies also opened two new branches in Lahore and Karachi in Pakistan as a part of its global expansion. The new locations will offer Air Menzies International (AMI) direct access to two of Pakistan’s high growth industrial centres. The Karachi branch is close to Jinnah International Airport, while the new Lahore branch is located near Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Jonathon Clark, CEO, Air Menzies International, said: “We are excited to be entering the Pakistan market, as part of our strategy to establish a greater presence in the South Asian region. We have chosen two cities with huge potential and healthy projected economic growth of at least 5% over the next few years in both Karachi and Lahore. Looking ahead, this gives us huge confidence in a buoyant regional marketplace, where we can offer our renowned leading global freight forwarding and related logistics services.”

The expansion increases AMI’s presence in South Asia and is part of the company’s wider strategy to focus on the Asian market and key manufacturing and industrial hubs.
