Mumbai airport faces technical snag, passengers complain

Mumbai International Airport Terminal 2 faced a technical snag yesterday (Dec. 1) resulting in a massive crowd of passengers and chaos. Several passengers took to social media complaining about the long queues.

Mumbai Airport is the second largest airport in India handling a huge passenger load every day. Preliminary reports suggested that the technical fault was due to damage to the optic fiber. Manual passes were handed out to passengers by security to curb the chaos.

Later the airport authorities came out with a press statement apologizing for the inconvenience.  “Our teams are present on the ground and manual processing has been initiated to facilitate all passengers. We sincerely regret the inconvenience and thank our passengers for their understanding,” the statement said.

The airport authorities, airlines, and security personnel worked together to manage the crowd. The situation was back to normal within a few hours.
