German aircraft engine servicer MTU Maintenance is expanding in Australia, Brazil and the US.

MTU Maintenance Service Centre Australia recently was given Part 145 approval from Australia’s CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) for CF34-series aero engines, while MTU Maintenance do Brasil has been granted FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) approval for the CFM56 engine family.

MTU Maintenance Dallas, meanwhile, is to relocate from Grapevine, Texas to a much larger facility at nearby Fort Worth Alliance Airport, the Berlin-based parent company said.

“These new approvals for our ON-SITEPlus network are another important step in achieving MTU’s mission to keep growing our on-site services for aero engines, by providing the right capabilities in the right locations”, said André Sinanian, managing director and senior vice president MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg.

The CASA go-ahead means MTU Maintenance Service Centre Australia can perform inspection, repair and modification work as well as borescope inspections and borescope blending and makes the company  the only on-site services provider in the South Pacific region for turbofan engines.
