IAG Cargo, part of International Airlines Group (IAG), has carried around 3,000 pieces of donated cricket equipment to Pakistan, where months of widespread flooding has destroyed schools and sports facilities.

The gear is to be sent to some of the 26,000 schools affected by the disaster, a donation IAG said could “assist the return to a sense of normality and children’s’ development”.

IAG partnered with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to arrange the shipment after it last month lifted 34 tonnes of emergency aid, including medical equipment, non-perishable food, clothing and tents, to Pakistan.
