China’s state-owned China Postal Airlines has expanded its relationship with PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) and the companies are pleased to announce a new passenger-to-freighter conversion deal. The project, which is now underway, underlines the reliability of PEMCO, which sets the company apart from competitors as has been continually proven during the companies nine year partnership.

Since 2003, PEMCO has contributed to China Postal Airlines’ exponential growth by facilitating the transition into a modern Boeing 737 freighter fleet that suits the needs, high performance operations and safety standards of the airline. The latest cooperation between the two companies focuses on the passenger-to-cargo conversions of two formerly International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC)-owned 737-400 (MSN 26335 and MSN 26337) aircraft, which both began service in 1996 in China. Each aircraft will be converted using PEMCO’s acclaimed Boeing data designed 737-400 passenger-to-freighter modification. The first of two freighters will join China Postal’s fleet of Boeing 737s this month, bringing the total to nine PEMCO-converted aircraft in China Postal’s fleet. The 10th aircraft will be inducted in mid-October with redelivery scheduled in early 2013.

“These latest freighter conversions for China Postal EMS are a testament to the exceptionally strong and successful cooperation forged between our companies,” stated PEMCO President, Kevin Casey. “PEMCO, together with our regional partners the HAECO Group (including STAECO and TAECO), will continue to provide the best possible service for China Postal Airlines, and we look forward to expanding our relationship through the delivery of top-quality aircraft and product support.”

HAECO Chief Executive Officer Augustus Tang said: “We are proud of having the opportunity to work with PEMCO in this passenger-to-freighter conversion project for China Postal Airlines. We treasure our longstanding relationship with PEMCO as we have been working closely together on conversion projects for eight years. We believe that our versatile technical expertise in undertaking freighter conversion for Boeing 737, 747s and other aircraft types, and the fact that the conversion can take place either at TAECO in Xiamen or STAECO in Jinan are giving the customers superb professional quality and greater flexibility on slots. With the world’s most experienced passenger to freighter conversion centers in China, the HAECO Group is well positioned to support PEMCO and airlines from different parts of the world.”
