September 7, 2022: Changi Airport (CAG) is further expanding its capacity to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic as travel demand continues to grow post-pandemic. Keeping this in view, the airport is all set to reopen the southern wing of Terminal 2 (T2) for departures on October 11, 2022. This will help the airport management to spread out the passengers more evenly across the airport anticipating the year-end rush.

Tan Lye Teck, CAG’s Executive Vice President of Airport Management, said: “With a refreshed design, upgraded systems, and a high degree of automation across the passenger journey, T2 will enable Changi to serve our passengers better as we prepare for a busier year-end holiday peak. CAG will work closely with our airline and airport partners to welcome more passengers at T2.”

The state-of-art Terminal 2 is not only more spacious but the design is inspired by nature creating a calm and relaxing environment for passengers. The terminal is complete with modern amenities like check-in kiosks and automated immigration clearance gates for ease of passenger travel.

Singapore Airline will commence the flights to Malaysia and Thailand from T2 followed by Air India and Air India Express.
