Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is celebrating its 60th anniversary. On July 9th, 1958, James Addison began Aeronautical Engineers with a simple vision of providing the growing air freight industry with dependable and cost-effective freighter conversions. The company made its mark on aviation history beginning with “work-horse” freighter conversions for aircraft, such as the Convair 440 and DC6. During the 1980s and 1990s, AEI solidified its reputation in the air freight industry with the highly successful B727 series freighter conversions. Today, the company carries on the established tradition, recently announcing that over 100 B737-400SF freighter conversions have been delivered to customers around the world.
“Today is a day for us to pause for a moment and reflect on the many great accomplishments that we have achieved as a team over the years,” said David Sandri, Aeronautical Engineers CEO. “AEI is a resilient and globally recognized expert in the field of narrow-body freighter conversions, an accomplishment in which we can all share immense pride.”
AEI’s success continues with the announcement of over 45 orders and commitments for the CRJ200 SF, and over 100 orders and commitments for the B737-800SF freighter conversions.
“Our 60th anniversary is a brilliant milestone in AEI’s history and certainly worthy of commendation,” stated Aeronautical Engineers President, Roy Sandri. “With robust orders and commitments continuing to pour in from our customers for newly introduced freighter conversion products, we believe that AEI has an extraordinarily bright future.”
AEI is currently on track to deliver its 500th freighter conversion by the end of this year.
