US company 321 Precision Conversions has announced that Sichuan Aviation Industry Development (SAID) “has committed to the A321-200PCF conversion product”.

The conversion and heavy maintenance are to be carried out by SMECO, a Chengdu-based business, with work on the first aircraft to start in March 2023.

“This is a major milestone in our program as we induct the first article B-Registered CAA aircraft and introduce the A321-200PCF into domestic Chinese freighter operations,” sad Gary Warner, president of 321 Precision Conversions.

“We are confident the A321-200PCF is the perfect platform for future express/integrator cargo as well as general cargo. The low operating empty weight, reliability, and quality of Precision converted products is second to none,” said Chen Bo, president of Sichuan Airlines-backed SAID.

321 Precision Conversions is a joint venture between Aircraft Transport Services Group (ATSG) and Precision Aircraft Solutions (PAS) to deliver the A321-200PCF freighter conversion.
