AirAsia has renewed its agreement with Navitaire, an Amadeus company. Under the terms of the contract, AirAsia will use Navitaire’s advanced ancillary, loyalty and reservations platforms including digital, merchandising, distribution and departure control until 2028, resulting in over 25 years of partnership between AirAsia and Navitaire.

AirAsia will leverage Navitaire’s technology platforms to support the carrier’s growth plans as it adds 300+ aircraft and expands in key regions such as Southeast Asia, India, Japan and China over the coming years.

“Since our launch, Navitaire has shared our focus on supporting our high-growth and low operational cost model by providing solutions that enable us to serve our customers in innovative ways,” said Aireen Omar, AirAsia Deputy Group CEO (Technology and Digital).

“As AirAsia spreads its wings, platforms including New Skies and Navitaire Loyalty give us the right foundation to further position our business for sustainable, long-term success. New Skies is a prime example of our passionate commitment to adopt new technologies to help us deliver world-class service at low fares across Asia Pacific.”

“Tony Fernandes and the entire AirAsia team have embodied an entrepreneurial spirit since day one, and harnessed this energy to attract over 500 million passengers today to truly deliver on the brand promise ‘Now Everyone Can Fly’,” said David P. Evans, Navitaire CEO. “We’re honored to support the airline’s tremendous growth and continued success as AirAsia edges closer to bursting through the 100 million annual passenger ‘ceiling’ and beyond.”
